What to Expect When Your Auto Transporter Arrives
Road Riders Auto Transport prides itself on shipping vehicles in a timely manner. Unforeseen problems sometimes do occur, including traffic or weather delays, which is why you are given a pickup and drop-off “window” or time frame to allow for certain delays. Patience and preparation are essential and will make sure the experience is a positive one.
Don't forget to clarify payment terms. A deposit is due at the time of reservation, and payment terms can be found in your contract. Always ask questions if you need clarification on anything. We are here for you.
Transporting a Vehicle
Be sure to make a complete inspection of your vehicle (washed for easier inspection) before handing over your car to the transporter. Note any scratches, dings, dents, or other cosmetic damage in writing.
When the vehicle shipping driver arrives, you will both inspect the car for pre-existing damages. Verify that the transporter makes an official note in addition to your personal records.
If you have any last minute questions or concerns about the transport service, please feel free to ask your driver. Confirm the terms of your contract and make sure the driver has your correct contact information.
Before your car is loaded on the trailer, note the odometer reading. Your car may be driven a little in order to load or store your vehicle, but there should be no major mileage discrepancies when the car is delivered.
Delivery
At the delivery point, the driver or a company representative should inspect the vehicle and note any pre-existing damage. You or your designated representative will need to be there during the inspection to verify. When your vehicle is delivered to its destination, make sure to inspect the car thoroughly for damages. In addition to checking for cosmetic damages, look at the car’s undercarriage, check the odometer, and start up the car to check for mechanical problems.
After Service is Completed
In the unlikely event that your car has arrived with new damages, contact us for instructions on filing a claim. Make sure that the driver or agent has signed your record of damages and try to file with your insurance within 24 hours.
In most cases, once the car is delivered the shipping process is completed. Road Riders Auto Transport strives to provide the most positive experience and we greatly appreciate referrals to friends and family.
